WELCOME TO STUDIO CITY
A trendy town with peaceful neighborhoods lined with towering palm trees
Studio City is a combination of posh urban neighborhoods branching off Ventura Boulevard and private estates tucked into the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. The city is in the San Fernando Valley, just below Valley Village and above Laurel Canyon and Hollywood Hills. This area is bordered on the North and East side by the 101 and 134 freeways, making the rest of Los Angeles easily accessible. On top of the convenience of being in a desirable location, Studio City has a small-town atmosphere that makes it a cozy place to live.
True to its name, Studio City is home to the
CBS Radford Studio Center. The production company creates television and film here, and in the past, people have been able to wander around the backlots by participating as a studio audience. If you are looking for a more immersive experience,
Universal Studios Hollywood is next door to the East. This studio is so expansive that most of the land is in its own county named Universal City, and the rest falls under Los Angeles city limits. Universal has a variety of rides and themed lots and a studio tour that guides guests through an operational movie studio.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT & SHOPPING
If you are looking for food on Ventura Boulevard,
Art’s Delicatessen is a local favorite. This restaurant serves traditional Jewish dishes like matzo-ball soup and the classic Reuben. Another casual eatery with rave reviews is
Joan’s on Third. Their menu offers classic cafe options for breakfast and lunch, including salads and sandwiches, so even picky eaters can find something they like.
Also on Ventura Boulevard is
Firefly. This restaurant is an excellent recommendation for date night. Whether you are booked for dinner or simply stopping for a nightcap, Firefly’s romantic ambiance will steer the night in the right direction. They have a full bar and a patio dining area, serving upscale American cuisine.
Ventura Boulevard is known for being the longest stretch of adjacent businesses in the world, and a section of this avenue goes through the center of Studio City. In addition to various restaurants, you can find popular clothing stores and boutiques. Locals support many mom-and-pop businesses that have stood the test of time, which speaks to the connectedness of the community.
THINGS TO DO
Living in Studio City gives you access to studio tours and theme parks. There is so much to see and do at them that you will see something new each time.
The Studio City Farmers Market is open most Sunday mornings. Some vendors sell locally sourced produce and dairy, and others sell hot meals and baked goods. Kids love the market too for the petting zoo and face painting. Most days, there is live music and ample seating to enjoy. Since the sun usually shines in Los Angeles, this market is a consistent community staple.
